Scientific Momentum and Interdisciplinary Integration… Sessions of Theodor Bilharz Institute Conference 2026 Reflect an Advanced Vision for Medical Practice
In a scientific scene reflecting diversity of specialties and depth of expertise, Theodor Bilharz Research Institute organized a distinguished scientific program as part of the activities of its 2026 Annual Conference. The sessions and lectures clearly demonstrated the integration between various medical and research fields, confirming that real progress in healthcare is no longer based on isolated specialization, but rather on the integration of sciences.
This was clearly reflected like the topics presented and the level of scientific discussions.
The conference presented an expanded scientific program that included 30 specialized scientific lectures, with the participation of a distinguished group of Egyptian and international experts, addressing the latest developments in medicine and scientific research.
The sessions discussed four main themes, including the applications of artificial intelligence in surgery and medical diagnosis and its role in supporting clinical decision-making, in addition to recent advances in cancer treatment, including immunotherapy, cancer vaccines, and biomarkers, as well as the latest diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.
The themes also addressed obesity management as a complex disease from an integrated molecular and therapeutic perspective, in addition to environmental research and the impact of surrounding factors on human health and their relationship with chronic diseases.
The lectures explored advanced topics including gastrointestinal and liver diseases, kidney and urological disorders, modern surgical and interventional techniques, as well as the role of diagnostic imaging in tumor assessment, and recent developments in the diagnosis of parasitic diseases using advanced technologies.
The sessions were also distinguished by presenting successful applied models that reflect the integration between laboratory research and clinical practice, in addition to interactive scientific discussions that contributed to exchanging expertise and promoting evidence-based medical practice.
These sessions featured experts from inside and outside Egypt. Lectures were delivered by professors from the University of Louisville (USA), Portsmouth University Hospitals (UK), and the National Institute of Parasitic Diseases in China, in addition to professors from Ain Shams University, Al-Azhar University, Cairo University, Fayoum University, and Badr University, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Health, the National Research Centre, the National Liver Institute, the National Nutrition Institute, and the Air Force Specialized Hospital.
Moreover, a large number of valuable lectures were delivered by professors and researchers from within the institute itself, adding an international dimension and enriching the scientific dialogue.
The conference sessions reflected a developed scientific environment that brings together research and application, emphasizing that interdisciplinary integration has become a fundamental pillar for advancing healthcare.
