A new scientific achievement for Theodor Bilharz Institute: a patent for the production of therapeutic proteins using biotechnology.

In a scientific achievement that adds to the record of research successes of  Theodor Bilharz Research Institute, the Egyptian Intellectual Property Authority has approved a patent submitted to the Patent Office, funded by the Science, Technology, and Innovation Funding Authority (STDF), in the field of producing genetically engineered therapeutic proteins using biotechnology.
 
The patent was awarded to Professor Ehab El-Dabaa, the project's principal investigator, Deputy head of the Department of biochemistry, molecular biology, and medicinal chemistry at the Institute, and supervisor of the center of excellence for genetically engineered therapeutic proteins, and Professor Mohamed Ali Saber, Professor of biochemistry and molecular biology at the Institute. This achievement confirms the excellence of the Institute's research capabilities and supports the trend toward harnessing biotechnology to serve the medical and therapeutic sectors.
 
 In the same context, Professor Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Director of  Theodor Bilharz Institute and Chairman of the Board of Directors, expressed his sincere congratulations and appreciation to the distinguished scientists on this outstanding scientific achievement, noting that it reflects the excellence of the Institute's research staff and their dedicated efforts in the fields of research and development.
 
Dr. Abdel Aziz emphasized in his statement that the award of this patent to Dr. Ehab El-Dabaa and Dr. Mohamed Ali Saber represents a qualitative leap in the support of applied scientific research and confirms the Institute's leading position as a national research institution that effectively contributes to addressing health challenges through innovation and knowledge.
