Theodor Bilharz Research Institute organizes a successful workshop on the latest methods of treating benign prostatic hyperplasia as part of the activities of the 2025 Annual Conference
Under the patronage of His Excellency Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abbas Shamis, Director of the Theodor Bilharz Research Institute and Chairman of the Conference, and as part of the activities of the Theodor Bilharz Research Institute Annual Conference for the year 2025, the Department of Urology organized a specialized workshop on the latest methods of treating benign prostatic hyperplasia Prostate Enucleation.
The workshop included a lecture given by Prof. Dr. Hazem El-Mansi, Professor of Urology at the University of Northern Ontario, Canada, who reviewed the latest scientific developments in this field, during which the latest techniques for treating benign prostatic hyperplasia were highlighted, with a focus on the technique of prostate peeling using Thulium Fiber Laser.
The event witnessed a live broadcast from the institute's operating rooms of two laser prostate peeling operations, with a distinguished presence of a group of urology professors, which gave participants the opportunity to watch the practical application of the new technology and interact with the steps of the operation directly.
In this context, Professor Dr. Mohamed Abbas Shamis, Director of the Theodor Bilharz Research Institute and Chairman of the Conference, stated that holding such scientific workshops comes within the framework of the institute's vision to enhance innovation and provide the latest global technologies in various medical and research fields, and in an effort to support medical cadres in Egypt with the knowledge and experience that enables them to provide the best level of health care to patients.
The workshop received a great turnout from doctors and researchers specializing in urology surgeries, who praised the valuable scientific content and the organization of the event, stressing that these events enhance the exchange of experiences and the development of medical performance in Egypt.
The workshop was organized under the leadership of Professor Dr. Mohamed Hussein, Head of the Urology Department, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Head of the Surgical Clinical Division.
The conference and workshops will continue for four days, to provide more specialized scientific lectures and fruitful dialogue sessions.
