
Biography
Dr. Khaled Zayed is an assistant professor at Environmental Researcher and Medical Malacology division, Theodor Bilharz Research Institute, Giza, Egypt, and a member of WHO-TBRI Collaborating Center for Schistosomiasis Control, Neglected Tropical Diseases (WHOCCs-NTDs), Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Nanotechnology and Parasitology, National Institute of Parasitic Disease, Shanghai, China. (2017-2022). He is interested in the epidemiology of the host-parasite systems, mainly those concerning the schistosomes. His research includes studies on host-parasite relationships, Nanotechnology, Immunology, host and parasite compatibility, parasite and host life-history traits, parasite and host phylogeography. He is also very interested in using molluscs as models for immunobiological investigations, chemicals, as bio-indicators for environmental toxicity and genotoxicity. He expanded his area of interest to include marine molluscs and their medical importance as natural sources for drug discovery
