Biography
I am an associate professor and a consultant of Medical Parasitology at the Department of Parasitology, Theodor Bilharz Research Institute (TBRI), Giza, Egypt. For the past 15 years, I have taught, diagnosed, consulted, and led research in human parasitic diseases at Theodor Bilharz Research Institute. I received my Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S), and M.Sc. degree in Microbiology-parasitology followed by an M.D (Medical Doctoral = PhD) in Medical Parasitology from Cairo University. My research interests are human parasitic diseases and vector/vector-borne diseases (particularly, neglected parasitic diseases that have an interface with “one health”) to fill major gaps in real-life clinical and diagnostic challenges and questions that need to be answered.
Research Fields
I have been carrying out research work in the field of medical Parasitology for 15 years and have been involved in research topics on parasites regarding host-parasite interaction, epidemiology, genetics, diagnostics, and new therapeutic modalities.
