Biography

Sayed H. Seif el-Din was appointed among the first graduates of the universities as a research assistant in pharmacology Dept. in May 1993. He became assistant researcher in 1997, a researcher in 2003, an associate professor in 2008 and a Professor in November 2013. He was the Head of Pharmacology Dept. from September 2019 to 2022. His research interests include; pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetics of antischistosomal drugs, drug metabolism, NAFLD/NASH and hepatic anti-fibrotic drugs and gut microbiota modulating drugs. He Participated in Six international projects funded by (USAID, NIH, European Commission, Czech Academy of S.R, SIDA and FP7 programme); and participated in 11 internal projects, funded by the TBRI, as PI, Co-PI or as a participant. He published 41 scientific articles in peer review international scientific journals. He has an author h-Index 21 and total citations of 878 signals for his Research, based on Scopus database.

Research Fields

My research fields include pharmacodynamic/kinetic studies of current and newly introduced antischistosomal drugs and their adjuvant combinations in murine infection, as well as investigating the biological, pharmacological, and immunological mechanisms underlying antischistosomal drug efficacy/resistance. Assessment of drug metabolism, metabolizing enzymes and drug toxicity. The establishment of NAFLD, colorectal cancer models and the testing of various treatment approaches for diabetes, gastrointestinal disorders, and cancer.
