Emeritus professor of Medicinal chemistry department .Division of biochemistry , molecular biology and medicinal chemistry in TBRI. Academic. Prof. Abdou received her B.SC. degree in chemistry from the faculty of Science, Cairo university, M.Sc. degree in organic chemistry, Menoufia university, Ph.D. in organic chemistry from faulty of Science Ain shams university . Prof. Abdou was Promoted to assistant professor in chemistry of plants and Natural products . Supervision : 1Ph. D. thesis, 2 Master thesis. Publication: About 40 research papers in national and international J. Participated in three research projects national and international. Membership in many Egyptian scientific professional associations. Experience in extraction ,isolation purification and structural elucidation of the different compounds which isolated from medicinal plants and evaluate the biological activity of them.
Research Fields
Medicinal chemistry. The chemistry of natural products and their biological application including extraction, isolation, purification and structural elucidation of the bioactive compounds which isolated from medicinal plants. Biological evaluation of the different extracts and the isolated compounds as antitumor, antioxidant and hepatoprotective. The isolation and structures elucidation of the active compounds based on various chromatographic techniques and spectroscopic analysis such as IR, Ms, UV, NMR (H NMR and CNMR).
