Biography

• B.Sc. degree in 1991 from Faculty of Science-Zagazig University. • Appointed as research assistant at the TBRI in 1993. • Ph. D.: Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Ain Shams University (2003). • Experience and research field is chemistry of natural products and their biological applications. • 2006: Visiting Researcher (30/1-30/5-2006) at Institute of Medicinal Chemistry, Danish University of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Denmark. 2009-2018: Professor of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Taif University, KSA. 2019- 2025: Head of Medicinal Chemistry Department, TBRI. 2019-2022: Acting Head of Biochemistry & molecular biology and medicinal chemistry division, TBRI. 2025 till: Acting Head of Division • Membership of several Egyptian scientific societies. My name included in the Stanford list for top 2% of global scientist (2020-2022, 2024). Award the second-best research article for the year 2007 of the late Professor Sawsan Omran's Awar

Research Fields

Since 1993, I work in the field of chemistry of natural products and their biological application especially as cytotoxic, molluscicides, schistosomacides, antimicrobials and antioxidants…..etc. I worked on different kind of extraction, separating and isolating systems including traditional extraction methods and Microwave & ultrasound assisted extraction methods, open column chromatography, thin layer chromatography, paper chromatography, analytical & preparative high performance liquid chromatography, GC/MS, LC-DAD, LC-UV, LC-RI and LC/MS. I have good experience in interpretation the spectra obtained from NMR & MS spectrometer to make structure elucidation for the isolating compounds.
