Cooperation protocol with City of Scientific Research and Technological Applications
(SRTA-City)
The two parties agreed to cooperate in the following areas:
· Developing the production of diagnostic materials and vaccines for liver diseases due to parasitic infections.
· Establishing a partnership that contributes to achieving sustainable development in implementation of Egypt's 2030 Sustainable Development Strategy.
· Cooperation in the fields of creativity, innovation, commercialization and promotion of each other's activities.
· Scientific training and academic cooperation.
· Exchange of technical information and scientific visits.
· Organizing and supporting scientific meetings, conferences and workshops.
· Linking with industrial, academic and professional organizations whenever possible.
· And other areas in which the two parties may agree to cooperate.
· Objectives of cooperation:
Conducting joint applied research between professors and researchers at SRTA-City and members of the research staff at TBRI, each party with its ideas, laboratory capabilities or equipment with the aim of enriching the research and applied process.
The two parties agreed to:
The two parties shall cooperate in joint research as follows:
· Holding joint training courses and workshops in both SRTA-City and TBRI in areas of common interest and the financial costs shall be agreed upon between the two parties in each case separately.
· Coordinating between SRTA-City and TBRI professors to participate in organizing courses and awareness seminars with the aim of increasing awareness and knowledge in order to face the labor market. SRTA-City and TBRI also organize seminars for their researchers using members of the research staff to raise awareness of the importance of research and academic studies. With the preparation of any training course, a detailed list is drawn up, including course fees and expenditures, and the necessary approvals regulated by the University Organization Law are taken in this regard.
The Parties shall:
1. Proposing joint research projects between researchers at the Scientific Research and Technological Applications City and Theodor Bilharz Institute to encourage cooperation in the fields mentioned in the second clause through an integrated research plan consistent with the research plan of both parties in order to serve the development of the environment and society.
2. In the event of working on joint scientific projects between the city and the institute in the areas of cooperation mentioned in the second item and funded either from inside or outside Egypt, all the capabilities of the city and the institute, including scientific equipment, data and analysis, will be used at a nominal cost margin.
To be agreed upon in advance between the two parties without prejudice to the proper functioning of the two parties.
· The two parties agreed to maximize the utilization of the research potential, scientific devices and central laboratories of the two parties, provided that a detailed annex in this regard will be prepared later, and the detailed annex is considered an integral part of this protocol and complementary to what is stated therein.
Duration of the Protocol:
This agreement shall enter into force from the date of its signing by the competent authorities of the two parties for a period of three years.
