Operating Theater

The operating theater is considered one of the most vital departments in any healthcare facility. Therefore, in its commitment to providing the best medical services to the Egyptian citizen, Theodor Bilharz Research Institute (TBRI) director was keen to implement the development of Operating Theater No. (2) at the institute, in order to maintain the provision of distinguished healthcare services for patients.

The operating department was redeveloped to comply with international standards for operating theaters and infection control requirements. The department was executed using the One-Way Circulation sytsem, employing the best materials and finishes to ensure the safety of patients and medical staff during and after surgical procedures.

The development includes:

A.    The supply and installation of five capsule-style modular operating rooms, characterized by:

1.      A Future-Proof Upgradable System that is flexible and compatible with many modern medical technologies used in operating theaters, allowing for easy updates and maintenance.

2.      Compliance with infection control requirements, ensuring patient safety.

3.      A longer service life, as the walls are made of stainless steel resistant to rust and bacteria.

4.      The installation of a laminar airflow unit to guarantee the highest quality and distribution of air within the room.

5.      A protective electrical panel to safeguard patients and medical equipment inside the operating theaters.

B.     The development of corridors, service rooms, a recovery room, and a patient preparation room, all executed at the highest level using premium anti-bacterial materials that comply with international codes for preventing bacterial growth.
