About Me
Prof. Otto has been active in surgery for more than 35 years, with the first five years of surgery being dedicated to the areas of general surgery, trauma surgery and vascular surgery. Since 1987, Prof. Otto has worked in surgical urology at the clinics of the University of Essen, the Municipal Clinics Neuss, now Rheinland Klinikum Neuss. The professional training was deepened through stays in numerous renowned national and international specialist institutions. The focus is on tumor surgery, drug-based tumor therapy, plastic surgery and surgically reconstructive urology with preservation of potency and sexuality. Under his leadership, one of the first tissue engineering facilities in Germany was founded. The goals here are also to improve the quality of life and prognosis of tumor patients. Prof. Otto was a member of the founding board of the AUO (Urological Oncology Working Group) of the German Cancer Society and played a leading role in the creation of the GCP guidelines.
