The opening ceremony of TBRI annual conference 2025 with the attendance of The German Ambassador to Egypt and Egyptian eminent guests

With the participation of Professor Dr. Mohamed Awad Tag Eldin, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Health Affairs; His Excellency the German Ambassador to Egypt, Mr. Jürgen Schulz; Professor Dr. Ahmed Taha, President of the General Authority for Accreditation and Health Regulation; Professor Dr. Omar Sherif Omar, Secretary of the Supreme Council of University Hospitals and representative of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research; Professor Dr. Amr Helmy, former Minister of Health; Professor Dr. Adel Adawy, President of the Executive Office of the Arab Board of Health Specializations and former Minister of Health; and Major General Dr. Tarek El-Nagdy, President of the Military Medical Academy, along with a high-level delegation from the German Embassy and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), as well as distinguished lecturers from Germany, Canada, and England—the 2025 Annual Conference of the Theodore Bilharz Research Institute was held, marking an outstanding international presence.

This international participation enriched discussions and knowledge exchange, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing scientific research and strengthening cooperation between academic institutions worldwide. It added significant scientific value to the conference’s activities.

The conference took place over two days, on February 12 and 13, under the auspices of His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, with active participation from a distinguished group of prominent figures and scientific leaders from Egypt and abroad. The conference was chaired by Professor Dr. Mohamed Abbas Shamis, Director of the Theodore Bilharz Research Institute, who expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to all guests and participants in his opening speech.

Dr. Shamis highlighted the important role of the conference as a platform for researchers and experts to exchange ideas and scientific experiences. He also expressed his appreciation for the institutions and organizations that contributed to supporting and organizing this distinguished scientific event. He emphasized that the conference presents a real opportunity to enhance cooperation between research institutions and universities, contributing to addressing scientific and health challenges at both local and international levels.
