Animal House

The animal house is concerned with breeding different strains of experimental animals including big animals e.g. sheep, goats and pigs as well as small animals e.g. mice, hamsters and rabbits.

The animal house expanded its scope by constructing an animal surgical lab fully equipped with two operating theatres for performing experimental surgical procedures mainly on liver resection, regeneration and transplantation. The surgical procedures are performed according to the Egyptian animal protection law, the higher committee for research and development as well as the national ethical committee for scientific research.

Services:

•  The animal house supports the scientific research work in the institute;
•  The institute undergoes training courses in experimental surgical research with different universities
